Raising Manistee County

Raising Manistee County (RMC) represents a collaborative effort involving dedicated professionals from various regional agencies united by a singular objective: enhancing the quality of child care within Manistee County.

Originating from the Rural Child Care Innovation Program (RCCIP), Raising Manistee County emerged as a vital extension. Manistee County was selected to participate in this program in 2022, facilitated by Children’s First Finance. The primary aim of the RCCIP was to assist the community in recognizing the scale and nature of their child care obstacles. Resulting from the RCCIP initiative is the Community Action Plan and the identification of four critical areas aimed at tackling child care challenges within Manistee County.

• Respect, Recruit and Revitalize the early childhood care and education workforce.
• Increase community investment in the early childhood system and build a network of support.
• Increase community education around the early childhood system, and develop a universal, community-based system of child care marketing.
• Promote and increase access to existing support opportunities for child care business and increase the available child care supply.
